- 4 Cups Turnip
- 2 Tbsp Salt
- 1/2 Tsp Black Pepper
- 1/2 Cup Water
- 1/2 Cup Shortening
- 1/4 Cup Bacon Bits

- Cut turnips into small cubes.
- Add to bowl and mix with water, season with salt and pepper.
- Pour contents into frying pan of melted shortening.
- Stir slowly until browned.
