- 3 Cups Flour
- 1 3/4 Cups White Sugar
- 1 1/4 Cups Milk
- 2 - Egg
- 2 1/2 Tsp Baking Powder
- 1 Tsp Salt
- 1 1/2 Tsp Vanilla
- 1/2 Cup Butter (or Margarine)

- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- Grease and flour two 9 inch round cake pans or one 13 inch by 9 inch baking pan.
- Into large bowl, measure all ingredients; with mixer at low speed, beat until well mixed, constantly scraping bowl with rubber spatula.
- Beat at medium speed 4 minutes, occasionally scraping bowl.
- Pour batter into pans and bake round layers 30-35 minutes, or 40-45 minutes, until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool cake in pans on wire racks 10 minutes.
- Remove from pans and cool completely on wire racks.
- Makes 2 layers ore 1 cake.
- Cupcakes:
- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- Place paper liners in d dozen 3 inch muffin pan cups, or grease and flour cups.
- Prepare batter as above but pour it into cups, filling each half full.
- Bake 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center of one comes out clean.
- Cool in pans on wire racks 10 minutes
- Remove from pans and cool completely on wire racks.
- Makes 2 dozen.
